I gave the wife a peck on the cheek
On Wednesday or Thursday sometime last week
The following day she came down with the flu
With fever and chills not much she could do
By the weekend she was cured of her miserable ills
Aided and abetted by Nyquil and pills
On Sunday I noted my forehead was hot
By Monday my nose was producing gallons of snot
Snot taking turns with left nostril then right
Kleenex abounded, Doggie scavenger delight
Nose turning red from the multiple blows
Snot backing up from my ears to my toes
It hurt to stand up and it hurt to lie down
My head was a pumpkin with a nose like a clown
And the spigots kept squirting a river of green
As the tissues kept mounting to the point of obscene
Georgia Pacific grows its trees in a grove with my name
A contribution to forestry for which I am to blame
No good deed goes unpunished is the bane of the meek
I advise you to be careful when you kiss your wife on her cheek

Whatever the bodily ills may be, I can't see cutting off the breathing as anything helpful. Looks like a design flaw to me.
But- snot up to me.
Sorry- a silly night apparently.
Feel better!
