A Few Thoughts on the P Word

To all my den mates of whom I consider myself a fan, I have been suffering from a chronic case of Procrastinationus Maximus. I tried climbing up on my horse a couple of times but it has the rickets. Appolgies for being a tad behind on reviews..as you can see they are in my cue now.

Poem Artwork

Procrastination killed the kitty

Satisfaction had no pity

Used ninth life to no avail

Kitty reaper did prevail

I put off until tomorrow

What I should have done today

It doesn’t really matter

I won’t do it anyway

A rolling stone may not gather moss but

A fat ass sitting in a chair collects no dust

I got out of bed this morning

Ready to conquer the world

Then I looked upon my laundry list

And lack of ambition soon unfurled

I will not be Napoleon
In any shape or form today

Nor will I mimic Ghengis Khan

My motivation’s gone astray

That pillow’s looking mighty good

It expunged the conquest from my head

So now the world’s a safer place

I’m going back to bed

You know that thing you asked me

To do about a week ago

Good I forgot about it too

I opened up my email and

Was quite chagrinned to find

Somehow I have managed

To get one hundred reviews behind

I so enjoy the reading

I have fun with the reviews

Procrastination time is over as soon

As I can motivate my muse

If lazy is as lazy does

And motivation grew on trees

My forest would be petrified

Devoid of busy bees

The snail would be the sprinter

The leaves would refuse to fall

While I laid there in my hammock

Enjoying the slow pace of it all

He was gonna be a Roman Emperor, but he forgot to get out of bed!

Sounds as if you know me....I was told I was elected President of the local chapter of Procrastinators International, but i told them I'd make up my mind maybe tomorrow, maybe some other day......

Take care,

here I thought it was something [P]rovocative like [P}romiscuity. No big deal, you won't have anything to worry about creatively, that is, until after tomorrow (Tuesday) because the election will be over.

cheers,
dan

We all go through these bouts of using the "P" word extensively! Loved your witty rant!

Silly me ... I thought you were going to elaborate on the (P)hallic (P)rotuberance. But yup ... who hasn't succumbed to bouts of cunctation, or of dilatoriness, or of shillyshallying. It's something that's easy to be empathetic with - yupperbud - because who doesn't (occasionally) fall under its (P)ITA (pain in the ass) enchantment. (P)eace ... r

I think most of us can honestly admit to having "been there" on more than one occasion, Patrick. Cleverly and honestly share via your usual wit and humor. Thank you. Love and peace to you,

Regis

I just figured you were on an anniversary trip rocking and rolling with Eileen ~ I was imagining all sorts of visuals about the happy couple and quite pleased for her sake that you were taking so long. There was one woman in the world who was getting some attention, that's how I looked at it anyway!
Glad you're back and Feeeeeeeel the guilt.

You're not alone, Patrick. I think we all get that way from time to time. Don't sweat the small stuff. Be well my friend and God bless. Good job with this write too btw. ;-)

As always, my good friend, your words seem to come from some deep, mental place not allowed by other mere mortals because you wrap common sense and logic with absolute humor... Procrastination indeed. I've put off dumping my hamper into the washing machine so long now that socks and underwear are littered about the floor... Well, not really that bad but, oh, what the hell, I'll do a load of laundry tomorrow, possibly.
