God Bless the IRS

From the no good deed goes unpunished department.....Yankee's fan Christian Lopez caught Derek Jeter's home run this week, that happened to be his 3,000th hit, making the ball worth upwards of 250 thousand dollars. He selflessly returned the ball to Derek rather than keep it for himself. For his gesture, the Yankees rewarded him with suite seats for every remaining game of the season, an alleged apparent retail value of 50 plus grand. The IRS smelling an opportunity, considers the seats taxable income and he's on the hook for a tax tab of around $15,000. Buncha bullies.

To the tune "God Bless America"

Poem Artwork

God bless the IRS

Department of greed

Stand beside it

And chide it

For its might

That’s not right

Show some love

From the audits

To the tax forms

To the bank accounts

That were froze

God bless the IRS

Our tome sweet tome

God bless the IRS

Our tome sweet tome

The thing is, the IRS takes most from the people who can least afford it. Them that can have lawyers and CPA's to get them off scot-free.

SAD STORY...THERE ARE TIMES WHEN I AM NOT PLEASED WITH THE WAY OUR GOVERNMENT TAKES ADVANTAGE OF 'GOOD' PEOPLE. THANKS FOR SHARING. LOVE, BLESSINGS & FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS

The IRS is the brunt of many jokes and tirades, but the fact is, if everyone paid their taxes we probably wouldn't have a deficit right now. Taxes have become too complicated and have favored the rich. The IRS is too eager to jump on quick gain like a lottery winnings and other windfalls like baseballs that happened to fall into hands of men who would stand on rails and fall to their death just to catch one.

Greed is the right word. Anyway, you always see the funny side of things. Smiling.

Uh, Oh - they monitor the Internet, too, and 'Key Words' pop up in their 'Complaints Data Base.' They really like to audit those who bad mouth them. I'll be back later, to delete my comments - can't afford an audit right now!

i'm sensing sarcasm here...........bunch of f--n wankers the IRS. he should have kept the ball, set up a corporation, set up an address in the cayman islands, auctioned it off and kept the $$$ off-shore.

Your first words say it all, Patrick: "No good deed goes unpunished." Along with working initiative: Why show up every day and work your ass off if your job is going to go to a lesser paid, younger man or be outsourced all together? Why would one ever do a good deed? Our wonderful country is truly going to hell.
