Talk about a perfect storm for three people with Shakespearean like coincidence:

Mary Moore age 45 had been drinking and about 1:00 am wandered out into the middle of the street, laid down, and went to sleep. A passing motorist who was driving while intoxicated mistook her for a speed bump. She did not survive. He was arrested. Moore’s son, Thomas Olson age 22, was also out drinking that same night with friends. While racing to the hospital to be with his mother, the intoxicated driver of their car ran into a parked car, killing Olson. What are the odds? Don’t know, bad things do seem to happen in threes but idiocy is boundless.

Poem Artwork

Sometimes Darwin demonstrates

His theories must be true

Natural selection

Can work for me and you

Napping on the pavement

Has consequences pending

Depending on the traffic

You may not be mending

Never be a speed bump

Nature gives it no advantage

There’s no genetic benefit

To evolve into a bandage

So take a hint from Darwin

If you want to stay alive

Don’t fall asleep on city streets

And never drink and drive

We're all getting OLDER and hopefully WISER. Many more non-smokers these days and I see many more designated drivers, or cab rides home than in my younger days. The wheels turn slow, but they do turn. Dick

Never was much of a drinker, let alone a drinker and driver, but how true sad and funny all at time "Bad Night in Milwaukee" is.

And yet I keep hearing that we're the smartest species on earth. I sadly no longer believe that. We keep driving after drinking, and I can't even count the number of people I see still texting while driving. God Forbid they lose contact with their Facebook pals for five minutes.

Jeez!!! Whadda story. I've had my share of DWI's, they call 'em Dui's now. One in LA, one in Phoenix, one in Lake Charles, LA, and another one somewhere I can't even remember, and no, I am not drinking now. I quit boozing about twenty years ago. Lately I have been drinking a little cheap California burgundy before bedtime, but that's it, and with no desire to drive, thank you.

Wish I did drink, still...but I drive too much so that ain't gonna happen...so mom & son both die of a intoxicating disease of sorts...couldn't happen to two more deserving people...e
