"You're getting a little redneckier, and seeing things in them there woods."
Yesterday, I went out on the patio deck and found a sparrow did not fly away as I approached within 2 feet. The sparrow was intent on a green leaf, pecking away and gave me no mind. As I looked more closely it was a bright green worm about 3 inches long and very plump. The sparrow's pecking was not making a dent in this huge meal. Finally, the frustrated twerp grabbed the prize and flew up to my gutter above. A few moments later the worm dropped to the sidewalk again. The sparrow followed and took his heavy load back up again to the gutter. Two days rations in one meal and one alien rightfully eaten by our trustee feathered friends. I wonder if it was a beautiful butterfly?
