I saw a million stars

that filled the nightime sky

at least it looked a million

to my awe inspired eyes.

Made me feel

oh so small

smaller than a pea,

as I stand on this place

our home

that we call Earth.

It all looked so calm

so peaceful still

but for a few stars

that maybe

winked at me,

I just stood there

standing still and silent

amid this three dimensional world.

My wild imagination

wanted to reach out

to touch to explore

all that I could see,

then I caught sight of a light

that drifted alone

across that vast

expanse,

I wanted to be out there

riding it

where to

I did not care.

Soon it drifted

out of sight

left me with my thoughts

of awe,

I stood there

amid stone silence

unwilling

that I should move.

Maybe I stood there

far too long

for daylight

peeked on the horizon,

the stars I looked at

began to hide

as if behind a curtain.
