We all see a sunset at some time, it never is the same.

Poem Artwork

Nothing compares

quite like a setting Sun,

when we pause

just stare

look on and on.

Those gradual hues

that deepen so rich,

it all happens so quickly

you dare not blink.

A burst of colours

that shout so loud

even birds sit and gaze

as the Sun goes down.

Red at night, sailors delight, a weather forecast that's often right.

A soothing poem for the perfect time of day. Everything looks better in the light of the setting sun.

With almost everyone with a smart device capable of taking high quality pictures and then transmitting them worldwide, the images in your poem no longer fade quickly from view but are now available to even those who have never seen a sunset except online.

When I see one now, like you, I pause a moment and watch the colors gradually shift and change with the cloud formations that support them. Knowing full well that all of the colors will soon fade into that old lovely song… Deep Purple.

Nice poem John! I love to watch the sunset after the sunset. Many folks leave the area as soon as the sun goes down but the most beautiful kaleidoscope in the sky occurs 5-10 minutes after the sun sets. Thank you for sharing...
