Poem Artwork

Some children,
Will never see a toy,
Never get to play,
Or feel a bit of joy.

Some children,
Have soldiers invade their home,
Their parents killed,
And are too soon on their own.

Some children,
Are always being bruised,
Neglected, mistreated,
And constantly abused.

These children,
Are born and raised in war,
Where freedom is a myth,
And life an open sore.

As I see the next generation being sacrificed by political greed and adult egotism, I realize that pessimism is same as realism.

Wonderful message...it's happening all around us and so many close their eyes. Powerful truth! Thank you for sharing.

It's interesting: we readers assume you are speaking of a particular war. But actually your poems are interchangable with any war. War is war. Death is death. Misery is misery. The terrors of war don't care about time or land and these are always the inevitable outcomes.

You see this every day on the streets of every country. Visit a woman's and children's shelter; the one's that aren't discarded in dupsters or along side the roadway.

Some children have missing arms and legs--all in the name of "freedom". Powerful message.

You are so far off base here that it isn't funny. These kids and generations to come will have a chance to escape the tyrants.
