"For Freedom She Cry”

 

Malevolent and dark

Waters break

>>>>> And <<<<<

Upon shoreline bleak

Blood stained

Hair wet

Skin white

Soul black

Ready to

Mother oceans breast

And as moon beams bright

Brush their silver streaks

Upon her hair

Teardrops shine upon her face

To listen to another human lie

As seagulls call

For freedom

Waves, like those escaping from the human's mind to run over the lies that are like rocky shores being pounded by more waves.
Waves are free, lies are anchored with their own unreason.

This is a beautiful tribute to a country full of sadness and smiles. I watched the children's faces of Africa on American Idol last night. They raised $60,000,000 for children all over this world. Thank you for this tender pen.

You paint a full frame for each line, syllable, and even letter that moves the reader suspensefully from one moment to the next. A powerfully absorbing poem that was truly splendid to read.
