War on Terror visited us in Mogadishu. Hope it will not take a tour to other regions and districts of Somalia.

Poem Artwork

My Mogadishu
The once beautiful city
Is now rocked by war
By Suicide bombers
By Rocket launchers
By Cholera outbreak
By humanitarian crisis
By political greed
By interest groups
By Changing times
And by rising tides

My Mogadishu
The once beautiful city
Is now filled with pain
With the Screams of dying kids
With the wails of starving babies
With the shock of losing dear ones
With the sound of terrible explosions
With the fear of deadly clashes
With the horror of increasing fatality

My Mogadishu
Is no more smiling
No more laughing
No more enjoying
No more flirting
It is sick and downtrodden
Lying on its deathbed
Taking its last breath
And the world is watching
Not coming to its rescue

I ran away from Mogadishu
Praying that these insane wars
Never spread to peaceful areas
Lest the whole nation of Somalia
Is engulfed with flames of terror
It is my wish to see war contained
But I’m afraid I’m just a wishful thinker
War on terror is deeper than we can fathom

Abdi-Noor, Christians in the West have not forgotten you, nor Darfur, nor Cote D'Ivory, nor Nigeria. It is more that, as in Iraq, 'good intentions' will not stop the warlords and fanatics dropping everything they do to each other to slaughter foreign troops entering your country.

I am so afraid for your people; yet after Iraq will the Western powers come to Somalia's aid? Will the West drop the Islamic world into a box titled "Never to be opened"? Will we forget innocent people are dying, when the Islamists wish to test their weapons against Western soldiers?

Until those questions are answered, I do not have hope, except to cry out to God for you.

Fergus

Evil doers are scoping all parts of the world to take over control & to destroy country, after country...it's a sad site for all of us in this world. The evil brews around the world and must be stopped!
