Our six-year-old asked, “can I have a wife?
It’s cold and lonely sleeping by myself
when there’s frost on the pane;
when there’s thunder and rain.
I would treat her well . . . if I had a wife.
She would have pancakes and coffee each day
and I’d share all my toys . . .
would not make too much noise.
When we go shopping, can I pick a wife?
I’d share my room--everything that I own.”
Pa replied, “I will share mine!
She’s half yours . . . all of the time.”

A bit of advice for the young lad:
Have him gather all of his toys, his prize possessions, then take half of them away.
A dose of reality.
Next week, he'll see the boy down the block riding what used to be his bike, with what used to be his "wife" on the handlebars.
If they only tought us that in school...
