If you buy a man a boat,
of course he’ll need a rope.
When he gets a length of rope,
he will ask for an anchor.

he’ll remember he needs oars.
After trying out the oars,
he’ll learn rowing’s hard; want a troller.
Once he has the trolling motor,
finds it slow, he’ll want an engine.
When the boat has an engine,
he’ll want a truck top carrier.
When he get the boat up once,
he’ll decide he needs a loader.
After getting the loader on,
he will want new fishing rods.
Once the rods are used,
he’ll need new lines and flies.
When he gets the new equipment,
he’ll need a tackle box.
After getting the new box,
he’ll need a new light.
Once he has the light,
he will need fishing waders.
He cannot wear the waders
without new fishing boots.
After trying out the boots,
he’ll need a new life jacket.
Once he’s out there all alone,
he’ll need a jacket for a friend,
After getting out and fishing,
they’ll need a bigger boat ….
