Have you ever had an Awakening? Did it make Sense?

EPIPHANY © - Tom Hyland - 1. The manifestation of a divine being. 2. A sudden intuitive leap of understanding, especially through an ordinary but striking occurrence. Well Pilgrims, I certainly Ain't Divine ... Nor do I hear any Booming Voices ... So, Number One is Out! Ergo, my Epiphany must pertain to Number Two. It actually is Dual in Nature and ... In a way, it involves two other 'E' words ... Ecology and Economy! My First Observation, or Striking Occurrence, Is about a simple, or Ordinary Perennial Repetition ... SPRING! A Specific Wonder caught my eye this Past Week ... The lowly, but plentiful ... Maple Seed ... Hundreds, Thousands, Millions ... Nay ... Billions of Them, All Strewn Upon The Ground Everywhere! In One location alone, in Arbutus, several Maple Trees Adorn the Front Entrance Area of my Niece, Bernie's, Apartment Complex ... It is Impossible to Walk without Stepping on Them. Like Blankets, covering the immediate Trunk areas ... Windblown across the Grass ... on the Sidewalks, On the Roadways ... Everywhere! When We were Kids, we called Them ... Little Helicopters! Each, a Solitary Seed, Encrusted within a Single 'Wing' ... A Finely Tapered, and Veined, Featherlike Transporter ... Blown by the Wind from the Mother Tree ... They Spin, and Spiral, and Float ... Gingerly to Mother Earth! But ... Very, Very Few Actually Germinate and Take Root! I have No Clue as to the Statistical Actuality ... Is It 'One In A Million'? More? Less? But Definitely a Minority! It would Seem that Mother Nature KNOWS ... That's Why She Produces So Many! She is the Ultimate Propagator! Continuation of the Species! The Lack of Propitiousness LEAPED my Feeble Mind ... To a Totally Different, but Similar Dilemma ... Spermatozoa! Microscopic 'Spermies'! The Male Gamete ... That Solitary Lil Guy ... That ONE Successful 'Swimmer' ... One In A Million ... That Fertilizes an Ovum! 'They' have a Very Short-Lived Existence ... Nine Hundred, Ninety-Nine Thousand, Nine Hundred and Ninety-Nine ... ALL DIE! Two Extremely Different Species ... One Vegetable in Nature ... The Other ... Animal ... Yet ... Both Facing Similar ODDS! Now, as I Walk Along ... In a Veritable 'Sea' of Maple Seeds ... I have Difficulty ... Stepping on Them! That ONE Little 'Guy' Just Might Be ... THE ONE! The 'LUCKY SUCKER' ! (C) - TKH. Be CAREFUL Out There! P.S. - 'ECONOMY' SHALL BE NEXT!

I forsee both Ecology and Economy in the coming days as my cuz cur is on a rambling rant kick where one may ask when it might stop...nay, let it continue to its eventual end when the cur does of his arm bend...e
