Comforted by a familiarity
I could not name, I walked alone
between a trio and pair of friends,
along the high path - above the rocks -
curving toward the shore.
The ocean soothed us with Her distant voice,
refreshed the air with Her constant breath.
Unattached - yet held – I felt protected,
but vulnerable, suspended between realities.
In a moment of absolute clarity,
my energy elevated to Her in a whisper,
“Please, I’m ready for something more.”
Not a heartbeat elapsed as my declaration, my plea,
arced upward...
She answered, through a crystal prism,
catching the edge of my breath.
Softness infused me with such fineness
that I knew She was there.
Opened and filled, I now know the quietude,
the immediacy of Her gentle, exquisite grace.
