Now we know what happened to the lost battalion of confederate gray spoken of in a recent short story by this writer...

Dragon of Gettysburg…(follow-up to Confederate Gray)

Herein I came to find out,

After writing my story on the lost battalion, all about,

That in Gettysburg, there lives a dragon, right on the hallowed fields of battle,

He does love the taste of military men, living in Valley Forge prior to the Civil war,

Was there a company lost under Washington’s command?

If there were, George would have gotten a reprimand…

This dragon, the locals call him Sol, for old sol the sun, as he puts off heat,

Warms their hearts, keeps them in warmer feet, as he lives in the caves beneath,

The old battlefield, keeping him from raiding the graves of the dearly departed,

A full time job for several men of the region, don’t be near when he has farted…

So now we know what happened to the lost battalion of Confederate Gray,

Old Sol was younger then, with a taste for Cajun and southern fried foods,

They now, therein, give him indigestion and acid reflux, needs Tagament he does,

He has limited his eats to the local meats, a much less spicy bunch, says he…

If this poem does herein upset you, as to its lack of historic value,

Please to do what ever you want that calms you, or better yet,

Get yourself a confederate uniform of gray, and go walking on the battlefield at night,

Sol will find you, cooking you with his breath, until you are to him just right…

The dragon, eh?
thought you were referring to Henry Hunt's artillery. A dragon makes a better story than " iron shard and reeking tube..." good write

Pretty darn creative this is. You sure don't seem to suffer from writer's block--very prolific.
