Sailing on a Cloud

Don't ask where this arose from, maybe the depths I end up in towards the end of this little crumb...

Poem Artwork

Sailing on a Cloud…

No that’s sailing, not flailing,

Although if I were on a cloud,

I would be most likely ailing,

Closer to dead, with wings flapping quite loud…

You will never see this bit of white trailer trash,

Up off the ground higher than a ladder,

Or just maybe a few floors up, but never as high,

As the Sears tower in Chicago, would cause me to sigh,

As a fear of heights is nothing in comparison to my fear, so shy am I,

Cannot, can I, put a name to this anxiety, not even near,

I wouldn’t even discuss it, if I didn’t just bring it up myself, here…

So moving right along, I started out on a cloud, making noise so loud,

I was certainly attracting a large crowd,

All angels like me; I suspect they were heaven sent,

To quiet or send me back down where my racket could be plowed,

Under the ground, yes down to the depths, taken my wings,

Replaced with horns and a pitchfork, the satanic master being my new king…

Just cause I made some noise, a bit of racket,

Not like smashing a ball with my tennis racket,

Through the gods plate glass window, if I did, I only did crack it…

Love the pic Ed, I used to day dream in maths, looking out of window about floating on such the likes of castles on them. Never did pass that maths test:)

This was a nice humours write, and great for such a beautiful sunny day, if you did float on clound mind the tiny holes, where the rain drops in...

it is allowed
to catch a cloud.
so what you`re loud!
you should be proud
it drew a crowd
I adored this, so whimsical.
Floating around on a cloud, must literally be heaven....you wont be thrown back underground Ed, you are destined for The Angel....a little pub just past the next cloud.

I agree with Eileen, Ed, go get a higher ladder, and start climbing; who knows how high you can get!

"You will never see (me) up off the ground higher than a ladder..."

Maybe not literally, neighbor; figuratively, though, is another story entirely. Those turds aren't meant for snowballs; I'm just dropping off the stash you left behind the last time you DID fly overhead! And if I ever see that self-description in your poetry again, I'll be back with Sir Wiggles, and he'll slobber-kiss you into submission!

Peace, my friend!
