Rufuz and I in our world...

Poem Artwork

Rufuz is told, time and time again,

He is the bestest most wonderfullest puppy,

But others cannot understand they cannot see,

How can Ruffie be best as their dog is best or so they see,

But Rufuz knows he is the bestest puppy,

In our world, his and mine, I say he is best,

And he does believe it because who says it is me…

Our world, or our small part of it, here in New Jersey,

We go to the beach; we travel to Amish country,

We take rides together in Ruffie’s jeepie,

So he can bark and say hello to other dogs and many a horsie…

He lives here with me, his dad, but I am nothing in comparison,

Rufuz and I do live here till the time; we can leave and again travel,

The highways and byways, turnpikes and expressways, back roads & dirt roads,

Travel across this country of ours, making friends along the way, towing my toad…

Our little world so happy,

The two of us we find life sometimes scrappy,

But to have each other, him being the best,

We continue on, writing some in jest,

Some to attest and some to alleviate some stress,

But we stay together; we love each other wholly,

As we travel on, yet stay in one place,

Through out lives constant well meaning quest…
