Humor, philosophy, who the hell knows, I just try to write it so no one thinks it blows...

You Know you Got it Bad, When…

OH man, you know got it bad when you can’t remember your own last write,

Had to look for my name on the new poetry page, and that ain’t right,

Someday maybe after I die I will then see the light,

Okay, god let me go back and try it again to see if I can get it right…

“This is your brain, this is your brain on drugs,” always liked that commercial,

Or am I bringing up a conversation that is maybe way to controversial?

Let me go back to the main subject, hell this is the main subject,

How one forgets, when he has had too much,

And has not the ability, ambition or to stretch the envelope, inertial,

To continue on, with effigy of the self, not even sure that means anything,

But, hell I am HIGH and writing off the ill effects of this buzz,

Better this than to be nearby and to hear me way, way off key, sing…!

Okay, what was the subject matter contained herein again?

Probably as ever when I am buzzing along, to be mostly lame,

But makes me feel good to express myself, no matter how I do sound insane,

But don’t be upset, no one is at fault; I alone accept & shoulder herein the blame…

Sorry if my miscellaneous ramblings do bore you silly,

Oh heck, I have to make mention to you of my dear Aunt Lilly,

Really I have no aunt by that name, but if I did I would want to mention her,

It rhymed really good with silly so I felt I would be so and so on and so on, etc…

              AD Infinitum…

I think you're being a little 'hard boiled" on yourself. Some days our brains go to lock down just to replenish. For me...it'a blonde mooment. Guess i could dye my hair but I'd still be the same person with "moments" like you have given us here. Thanks for sharing and making me understand that I'm not alone.
