Wrote this while working today, if you read it and still don't understand where it came from, well...--------

Poem Artwork

Bombed…

They flew with the precision,

Of weathered fliers of old,

A hundred of them oh so bold,

Flying, they were something to behold…

Just washed my car,

Shined it did like a star,

Sparkled if seen from afar,

Not a scratch or a dent,

Nor even a mar…

They came in low,

They came in slow,

In formation a precision flow,

At a distance they did look like a speck,

As they closed they began to grow…

All of a sudden their direction did change,

Their white tipped wings looked as if they had mange,

On their turn just above, they did release,

Splats of birdie poop on my car did increase,

Where is my gun, I cried in response?

You bastard birds, thank goodness you weren’t geese,

They turned their heads away so nonchalant,

Someday I will eat those birds, yes deep fried in grease…

I'm going in two directions here... (I knew Eddie K would blast you but his comments are really funny!)... first, once again you amaze me with your ability to poeticize the "everyday"... but more than that, this is damned fine writing! humor writing, to be good, need to begin with a quick and witty mind... this is a shining moment here, Ed... it's hilarious, slice of life and put together really well... NICE ONE! katy xox.

Yes, my friend, those were my birds. Scouts have already reported back on the heavy casualties you have inflicted on my troops. So, you declare war; well, my friend, the ground assault troops arrive tonight at midnight; I would prepare if I were you.

PS DO NOT GO TO SLEEP TONIGHT. You have been warned.

they must have seen their reflection
on your shinny car
and thought they were being attacked,
self defense.
