I really did...but you know women...

Poem Artwork

I tried to explain…

I tried; I really did,

She just wouldn’t listen,

It was before I met you honey,

I mean she didn’t mean anything to me,

No I am not trying to be funny…

But dearest, they are mine,

And look at them, don’t they look just fine,

Kitties with spots, no dear I didn’t cross any line,

So there mother was a cat, she was a pussy so fine,

We met at a “stray bar” we just kind of connected,

She was eating mouse and you know me, a squirrel with lime…

We can still have puppies; mixed marriages have worked before,

I guarantee eventually you will learn to really them adore,

I even named one after you, I love you my dearest I really implore,

Now, now, my love, you know I wouldn’t do that; she was no whore,

You remember when everybody called you a bitch?

Just because you did move in with me and started makin’ puppies,

Okay, I am putting my paw down, they are mine and that I cannot ignore…

Remember when the saying was, "there's a dead cat on the line" well this brings a whole new meaning to it. Looks like somebody messed up but I'm sure there is a perfectly good explanation. I'm still listening...! LOL

Fantastic, funny, unique and a very creative write, Ed. Thanks!
