Jersey Devil Found & Identified… Story submitted to the Pine Barrens Barrier by our roving reporter Ruthlezz Rufuz… Flash: the Jersey Devil has been found and identified by this reporter last evening while I was out looking for dog “dirt”. The devil did approach me to talk, While I was out on my own taking a walk, My daddy he did otherwise balk, Till he met the creature in person, Could not believe his eyes said he, He just stood there and did gawk… The devil, who liked to be called Jersey, Was part lizard and part Guernsey, Hard to believe these two could mate, Will be forever and a day a scientific debate… His parents did meet on vacation, The story of how the Devil came to be a mere miscommunication, When mom & pop did meet, between them there was immediate elation, Old Jersey does not consider himself in anyway an aberration… His family they love him, New Jersey knows him well, So many trinkets with images of him this state did sell, None know of him the way I do though, He does not, however, around his neck wear a bell, That was just my idea, I being a dog quite theatrical… But don’t anymore be fearful of the Guernsey Devil, If you hear his mournful moan more the sound of a moo, In the forest at night, respond in kind, but stay headed level, He does not appreciate being photographed, nor made fun of, Just enjoy the meeting and if you must have a party and revel, Make sure you do so with class and invite him to take part… He told me his life of late has been one of quiet retrospection, Please treat this poor creature that has seen rejection, Like you would anyone you feel pity for, with that of affection, And he will respond with a changing facial complexion… © Rufuz ~ 3.6.2005 (& ed)

Dear Rufuz,

This could be the scientific finding of the century; and we always knew that a canine would solve this ancient mystery. Please carefully document all your conversations with Jersey, and prepare to become very famous.

Well I am awfully glad you have cleared that up for us ED, funny thing though, I have seen similar in the land of the long white gumboot....not quite so fishy but similar, must be a cousin I think MOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW
