Humor in a dark sort of way...maybe?

Poem Artwork

Frivolities…

There was time when eating was for me frivolous,

Living life in a light headed way,

No food in my fridge, much like it is tonight,

Just that ever present gallon of milk,

Making me look as if I am in a dire plight…

No food in my fridge, no gas in my car,

No life to speak of outside my home,

All at one time were frivolities,

Without money, not far would I roam…

Now that I have a few extra bucks,

I still seem to find it hard to get out,

I know to most that this may sound as if my life sucks,

But there are other reasons to stay home or just roundabout…

If I don’t go out, I am not tempted,

No chance will I be for arrest for attempted,

To stay near my home may seem to be house arrest,

If it is, then it is self-imposed,

Don’t want to take the chance to be in anyway exposed…

Aha! On a liquid diet, are we, dearie? Pepsi float with just enough salsa and mustard to make it memorable, eh? ICK! What I want to know is: why the empty gal. jug on its side? ok, ok... none of my business... hehe.

There you go, alluding to some awful temptations, making even "frivolities" a bit of a mystery. No matter... you are loved, dear heart. Don't forget. (smile) Besides, it's too cold to go out! katy xox

A man's home is his castle - and if you like the castle - why not stay home?

PS What is in that jar with the red liquid in it?? You might want to check the expiration date on that puppy.

Looks healty to me...no midnight snacks...unless it's under your bed...lol..like mine!!

Dear Ed,
If that is your fridge, it is the neatest bachelor's fridge I have yet seen. There is not much in it but at least there isn't mould growing in there. ;-)
I am sure you had your tongue firmly in your cheek when you wrote this but if not, get out there! Live a little.
Blessings to you

Well make something out of the milk and find a mule to back up to the car.
