Yep, its that time of year again...

Hair of the Rug… So soft to walk on in bare feet, A place to experience being covered in fur, Rufuz does shed in the spring, not so neat, He does leave his hair all over such he is the cur… Vacuumed twice a day or four, Tis’ a rather tedious chore, But one that I know will leave him comfy, He can’t help it so why should I get upset and roar…? Such a beauty with all his hair, The more he has the more he looks like a bear, The less he has the closer he is to being bare, Will have to eventually buy him something he can wear… Happy he is when the weather is cool, No panting does he do; very little does he drool, If he could speak he would probably say the hot weather is cruel, For the most part though, he seems happy as a rule… © ed ~ 4/22/05

Cute write, Ed. My cat sheds all the time now that she is older and can't tollerate the oils that would keep the coat from constant shedding. I vacuum often and am grateful that at 17 years old, she still graces my life.

Excellent picture and poem; I can relate to this as well, as I had two very furry Maine Coons, and every spring, I'd have to vacuum the house, thanks to all their hair! But that is the price of owning a pet: sweeping up dog (or cat) hair, and doing all the other things for your animal friend! Sure do miss it!!

Ed, fine picture and fine poem. Glad you accept the seasonal change without being grummpy. He's a beautiful dog. But wow, he has bushels more hair to shed then Lucy, my longhaired cat...... smile. Henry

Ah, Eddie M, in the midst of your poetic musings beats the rhythm of a man who understands how to soothe the human heart. This is not grinny poetry, it's a bit goosebumpy and smiley. This is really a lovely delivery on life with Rufuz... AND with you. katy xox
