Fanatical & anal, barely mechanical…

I do not profess to be mechanical,

Though those that know me say I am fanatical,

Everything I do own, if I can afford it, must work,

Some may even call me an anal jerk…

My generator did not start for two months past,

Today I changed the oil, filter and cleaned the plugs,

Now the old machine is out there purrin’ like a kitten,

Running so well, no longer does it have any bugs…

Under a load do run it once a month,

Told by the manufacturer to do so for two hours,

Though others do say only an hour will do,

I split the difference, giving it an hour and a half, what have I got to lose…?

New 12-volt coach batteries are awaiting installation,

No power problems this winter to add to my frustration,

Before wintertime the engine will again run, that being my expectation,

I sincerely hope and pray the engine has not yet reached it final expiration…
