Okay, so it's Christmas, what's your point...?

Poem Artwork

Decorated homes with lights and such,

Trees covered in garland, usually too much,

Wishing for that day a covering of white,

Waiting for Santa, hoping he had a good flight…

Presents lay under the tree in their wrapping,

Who is that under the tree there napping,

I should not have left bourbon to Santa warm,

He must have melted away, his red suit still lukewarm,

What kind of person is Santa, is he even a human life form…?

This year not a day off from work,

A Sunday Christmas does fall on,

Not even from the job does this holiday give us a perk,

Just another day and night before,

Working on the eve, sleep away the day,

A good time to do my laundry, while everyone is away…

We're gonna have a very cold Christmas this year, please leave extra bourbon out for me, er, I mean, for Santa. Thanks.

It's nice that you found something constructive to do. Thanks for the laugh.

Holidays are different when we live alone and don't have any family nearby. They just become like any other day, for the most part. Perhaps Rufus will dig you up one of his old bones and deliver it to you on Christmas morning. My cat doesn't believe in Christmas, she wants me to shower her with gifts every day.
Take care,
Sherry
