Was thinking of putting this under health and wellness but it is not all that important, but it would be nice...

RENE, dearest, please keep an open mind… As you can see by the picture, Please don’t be using stricture, As I found this while on the road, Please don’t get mad, don’t explode, But you know I love to look, And have been doing so, Since our old boat was bought and took… This one is a great little machine, Perfect for me, as well as my loving queen, It may not be much different than the last, Though a bit longer and with more beam, I just know if you saw her, You would from that point about her dream, You know I will of course, now to try to buy her I scheme… All I ask is that you think about it, Don’t go getting all upset and thinking sh**, I know to a degree money is tight, But think of the fun you and I will have, Searching for that perfect storm, From morning till night…J

Rene loves her horses and you, your boats. If your shared life is ever going to be a happy one, you are both going to have to accept the passions of the other. It is true that boats are expensive, but if one of your passions is the sea, you will never be a happy man if you feel that owning a boat will put a wedge in your relationship. You should not have to choose between your passions which in this case are Rene and the sea. I hope that she will understand this and find a way to help you make your dreams come true.

Whatever floats your boat, Ed! If you need a reference to give to Rene, I will give you a good reference as to why you need this boat! You need this boat because you need to have passion on the water and a six-pack to go! Good Luck, Ed. Compromise if you have to. Give her anything she wants!

If you want the perfect storm, come to...oh, wrong kind of storm. LOL The best thing you can do is talk about the possible purchase with Rene and make a decision TO-GETH-ER. If she's not receptive to the "plan," don't keep pushing the issue. Back off, listen to her reasons. You never know, maybe she wants to sail the seas with you...all you have to do is ask. :)
