Poem Artwork

If I say nothing I am rude,

If I say what I think I could be crude,

Sometimes I just want to bare my moon,

But then I would be thought to be quite lewd…

If a comment is what is wanted,

For the rest of my life I may be haunted,

By what I did or did not say at the time,

Either way I have tried to do so completely undaunted…

Leave it blank,

Don’t say it stank,

Please don’t be upset with this my little prank,

Have I done wrong, should I into the sea, walk the plank…J

Ed ...

Being able to be ourselves and express ourselves, as we see fit, is such a blessed gift. Only use the fertilizer that helps the plant grow and flourish. All the other stuff is just meant to kill it. Keep rocking the house Ed.

This reminded me of an incident that occcured many years ago...
We were camping close to dad's office, just a little adventure with mom during a week in the summertime, He would come home from the jobsite and meet us back at the the camper...One morning before he left for work, we had a campfire going, and mom was making coffee... With a smile she hands it to dad before he headed off to work. After a few sips, I see him looking around toward the camper, and suddenly, dumps the coffee. I said,"What's the matter, Dad, coffee not good?" He said, "Ugh! its awful, but don't tell your mom I said that!" So, I said, "I'll just tell mom to make another pot, Dad!"
He said, " Did you see the smile on your mother's face?" "Yeah, I did" "Well, I'm not, for one minute going to go in there and ruin her happy morning, I can get a fresh cup at he office..."
I never forgot that little incident and it taught me alot about feelings for others...So, in closing, I ask, "Did you go back to ask for some new coffee and ruin her day? or was it vice-versa?"
The plank has termites, you won't even make it to the end, so...why bother...
LOL!
Love and Peace~

I adore what Dai wrote. We comment/revoew when we read a poem. Many here read and don't review anything. Constructive criticim is a great source for learning. You "done good" Ed!

Don't walk the plank Ed, in real life i try not to say anything to piss people off, so a lot of times I keep my mouth shut, especially with my wife. Lifes a lot easier not going on the offense or attack unless it's absolutely necessary. On this den quite a few seem to want to use it as a writing school, I don't. They feel that critiquing will help them write better, the way I see it, if you can't write, you can't write. No amount of critiquing in the world is going to make you better but it might help in other ways. AD too me is a complete fun adventure, if I like someones work, I say so. If I don't I'm not going to rewrite it or tell them it stinks. I simply want say nothing. I love poetry in its unedited form, mistakes and all

Well, Ed, sometimes we do want to say something but end up saying nothing. I remember my time at college. A professor was lecturing away and kept coming up with the word 'exegesis'. I hadn't a clue what he was talking about. I wanted to raise my hand to ask for clarification, but felt the others would laugh. So I sat for a while saying nothing, pretending I understood, even laughed at his humorous comments that included the word because the other students laughed - I didn't want to appear dumb. Eventually I did ask. 'Professor' 'Yes?' 'Would you er, explain what exegises means?' 'Oh, it means studying and explaining what a text means' 'Thank you, professor.'
Whew! None of the other students minded. I only had to ask.

Quirky write, Ed

Many people live on their emotions and feelings.
They get those feelings hurt too easily.
I can't say what I feel to most anyone in my family.
They use that as a button pusher.
I still tell them what I think though.
They never darken my door, but still always cry for
my help. I love my family, but sadly I don't get
along with them.
I've never tried to run the show, but what's funny is
me family has always tried to run my show.
Didn't mean to tell my life story, but
DAMMIT, I just need a dog like Rufuz.
Thanks for letting me rant..
Gotta go Mo0n Mom and two sisters and two brother-in-
laws.
Pat Rufuz for me.........
