Sleeping on a mattress untenable,

It twas a piece of junk,

I tell you here no bunk…

I sunk into it like quicksand,

Never feeling all that grand,

I thought it my lot in life,

To endure that which I had to withstand…

A new mattress was far beyond my means,

That’s right I didn’t possess enough greens,

Till today, a lady that outdoes all the worlds queens,

Took me by the hand & to Sleepy’s we did careen…

Home we did come, afterward, with a heavenly cloud

We did not attract much of a crowd,

But those that did see were jealous, just not loud,

I will love this wonderful person for the rest of my life,

This today and for always I have most certainly vowed…
