Poem Artwork

Sleeping all day,

Or all night,

I am so true ,

Outta sight…

As long as its cool,

I break no rule,

I sleep in the daylight,

Cause my sleeping schedule is just not right…

But really folks,

Asleep I fall around dawn,

Just beforehand seeing a mother and fawn,

Out of the woods they do their heads peek,

Walking alone does out of the woods them coax…

Ed, I just heard a doctor speak about how most Americans never get enough sleep, and the lack of sleep is epidemic in our society. He says our ancestors often slept 10 to 12 hours in the winter, but vastly reduced the sleep hours in the summer to 7 or 8. But they stayed healthy by sleeping more. His point was you'll live much longer and feel better sleeping. You might miss a little of what you live because you're asleep, but I don't think so the way the unconcious keeps ticking............Jerry

Better "outta sight" than "outta mind". Well done.

Like you, I often see the deer and fawn at dawn. But unlike you, I am on my way out the door, for a wondrous walk in the wood. For me, rising at dawn, is still so very good. Sleep Well, Bro.

Seriously, when in great physical or psychical pain, sleep is the great deterrent to despair and depression, although waking up again with the problems still there, our soul, spirit or if you want to call it, our brain, would have recharged its batteries and we will looking at the problem from a different angle. Sleeping is the soul epidural.

The mother and fawn in the morning would be a nice sight with which to drift off to sleep. Enjoyed.
