Looking forward to being able to drive in some snow for a change...
Looks as if we are going to with snow get nailed,
After so many other little snow falls failed,
Will have to on Tuesday at its height,
Go out on the snow drifts and of them scale…
From the colder temperatures this storm does on us converge,
With cold air here in place, this snow will with it merge,
This storm could be this area’s worse scourge,
Under twelve inches or more we might find ourselves submerged…
I love driving in snow, too, and when it's snowing. Everything seems to be much quieter and the road is softer with all the bumps smoothed out. With a good heater, one can drive on a deserted highway with snow drifting across from a strong wind at 20° below zero and feel warm and comfortable in a surreal landscape.
Snow tires make driving in snow a lot easier, but it's best not to try to drive in snow over 8 inches deep. The only thing bad about driving in snow is there is sometimes ice underneath the snow making driving very treacherous.
But professional drivers like you and my father know even how to drive on ice… Very carefully.
Good write! The crunch, crunch, crunch of snow is OK. But snow melts and turns to ice. People slip and fall, cars slip and slide all over the parking mall. Did that before, don't want to do it ever again. Amen
