Don't ask how old I was in the picture, I've no idea, some of you are parents, you figure it out and tell me...

Poem Artwork

Sometimes childhood so long ago,
Takes a long time too to really grow,
Memories are quite precious,
I’m told I was quite precocious…

If memory serves me well,
Smart I was not but I easily fell,
Allergic to gravity was I when young,
Except on a surfboard, raft or water skis,
In the ocean I was a veritable fish,
I still of the ocean enjoy her sea breeze…

On the beach or in the sea,
I was all through childhood,
Brown from the sun, my bottom a bleached white,
In my cut off shorts I guess I was to some a sight,
Never did I wear shoes, nor a shirt,
Told by some that I was; either a flirt or was it a pervert…?

Have no doubt you were a flirt with looks like that and a body and sporting interest to match, Ed! :) I'll go with 16-17 years; you Americanos did like to dress formal in the 50s (... at least when you weren't down the coffee bar), no?. xx

I love Ron Hull's comment:

"So, until you can prove it, that's just a picture of some guy in a suit that you found on the Internet to illustrate this poem describing your fabulous physique."

Aren't you still a kid, and/or a pervert?

Like I said on FB, you were a cutie and still are. I would guess you were 14 or 15. Flirt I would say.

Always,

Deborah

That is a fine picture, I'd say a graduation picture. On the beach it sounds you were struttin' your stuff. You may have been clumsy on the ground but were one with the ocean.

Love ya!

Jane

Maybe 16 -17. 'Allergic to gravity' Hahahahahaha... good one. Flirt? Pervert? Or maybe just a curt squirt without a shirt trying to avert the dirt so his ma can't divert him to Frankfurt. Or not.

That looks like a high school graduation picture. But how do we know it was you? You are wearing a shirt and jacket and I can't see if you're wearing cutoffs or not or whether you're barefoot. So, until you can prove it, that's just a picture of some guy in a suit that you found on the Internet to illustrate this poem describing your fabulous physique.

We all were what we were back then, and when we get older we tend to embellishment the memory. You wasn't a bad looking guy for sure.
