I write this today on the happy occasion of the online release of my second book of poetry "Nature tales" by J K Roseline published by Raindrops publishing house , Bangalore India

Poem Artwork

In  the popular novel The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown ,Throughout the book Brown has described the infamous ‘Rose Line’, better known as the Parisian Meridian, the once challenger to the Greenwich meridian.

A girl named Rose with a  line came along

There was not much hype or a  birth  song

When her dad, a  John along with her sweet mom

Took charge of their little one soon one morn

When a girl named rose with a line came along

To give her dad first  a list to buy which was  long

Grand  father, a writer, a medal laureate from  Pope,

A  dramatist of his region, in his time, well known

In  her family  many artists, writers, poets, singers,  roll

Authors, lawyers, headmasters, dramatists come all

But her dad did chart his destiny well but far from it

Education  was a must for all his girls that he did

When she was born ,before her came a cousin Joe so cute.

A boy  in the family after a long gap

Attention was there …much celebrations too

Pampered   was the son, we all know  why

Then  a girl named Rose with a line  came along

she had her mother’s arms, father’s love

a name, a face so cute to go by

“You will have to raise high

The wall over the house, ask me why?

To hold her from running away with a guy

Said George uncle to her mother looking at  her tiny  wee self

As he imagined how she could look, when she grew up  well

How a girl named rose with a line came along

But run away she didn’t, while the scene was all set

The guy  was quick to stand with a priest at her door net

Asking her hand against his family’s wish

That he marry a rich heiress and become rich

But convinced Rose was not by  this    his act

Soon she heard  he was married and got scouted out

So  this girl named Rose with a line was left behind

Destiny had but other plans

Settled she  got by the turn of events

With a man who tolerated each of her act

She  reared  good  sons, calls them  bullocks of her cart

Roseline  grew up reading books, a tomboy when little

with two male cousins to hang around like tender hooks

one from the mother’s side, he Tony

The other is dad’s brother’s son, Joe

The two of them   smarter

Younger they were to her

 But she looked upto them

They brought  so much to  the helm

Her  love for English  verses

The readers digest and JS

Developed in this phase

In the wilderness   she roamed

 Summer vacations at uncle’s homes

Climbing up guava trees ,berries and bilaiti imli to break

 A long time ago ‘twas

Two jacks and a Jill they went all three

Of the two, Joe is no more

And Tony, American war veteran, now a preacher

Their contribution in her life was like a  propeller

They got her the   muse  she  has by her side

Life  could not have been better

A good start, school mates and family did make

Care free and happy. they helped her to  be

With a J and a K , a Rose with a line

How an author, poet, songwriter aligned

Her name she changed  the spell, a numerological take

Change! the  order which has forever been!  her sake

Happy to be blessed with family and friends

They who know how a lady named Rose with a line came to be

Yours is a touching narrative written with charm, love, and humility. I would only add that Roseline turned out to be quite an excellent writer of many genres who is making distinctive footprints in the sands of time. Well done, my friend. Ed
