Trials and Tribulations of dog lovers

Poem Artwork

Hound Dog

Little hound dog Zippa , I love you to death,
But, Do you have to keep barking with every breath,

Yeah I know you chased that squirrel up our big tree,
But you go try to climb it, you’re younger than me,

Don’t bark at me asking to come give you a hand,
I’m perfectly happy, when I don’t have to stand,

You’ll notice I’m seated, life couldn’t be finer
It would be better with an electric recliner.

If the wind ain’t blowin and it ain’t too hot,
I’m somewhat happy with what I’ve got,

Hound dog take a nap, sleeps good for you,
And give me a brake I’ll take a nap too ,

Ahh! peace and quiet from a man’s best friend,
But damnit here comes that Old squirrel again!

What's that, Tom: "Give me a brake" ??? You mean, you would like to equip hound dogs with Formula One brakes to stop them from running your life with barks up trees. You got a hope, my friend !!! Just ask the hound to shut up or better still smack him one on the hind or else give him to the Vet to put him to sleep... Enough is enough... Enjoyed.

That's a great good-looking dachshund! And dogs love to chase anything moving, like squirrels with their twitchy tales. Short legged dogs are definitely at a disadvantage.

Another wonderful twist at the end…

LOL!!!! That lil ole squirrel is the instigator. It won't leave you and the hound dog alone.
