Some prefer the chivalrous spears of knights-at-arms
Others prefer not to go at all all alone

The choice in these cases is either stroke or be-gone

Bonjour, Ron & Alex ! I'm new to AD, and simply don't know my way around the site. I'm not sure this's the place to reply to reviews, either, but I'll give it a try and see if two birds would fall with one stone. Pardon the cliché, dear Sirs!
On PoetrySoup.com and PoemHunter.com & other sites like OccupyPotery.net ("Potery" ? was this a snide cut at them for deleting all of my hundreds and hundreds of poems laboriously posted over years? I can't really say: ditto for BestPoems.org, etc.) - I digress - let me come back to thank you both profusely for your comments and appreciation.
The first thought that comes to mind is, How do you find the time to read and comment? -considering your own frenetic activity with teaching chores and publishing engagements. I'm flabbergasted! I hardly have the time to even feed myself breakfast (un petit bout de pain and tasteless non-caffeinated coffee).
I don't know if I'm going to be able to keep this up; by which I mean "respond" to reviews and read yours and others' works to comment. Daunting, to say the least! You're both right, if I might say so, in your judgement, though I don't deserve the kudos. Villanelle lines are repetitious like sexual activity, even safe sex. act., indeed, is taxing and taps on the nerves in the long run, but who can do without it. I found the solution over fifty years ago and after two or three short life-threatening debacles, that is, JUST ABSTAIN ! But the funny thing is that it just won't go away by itself, so. keep it at arms' length. Thanks for listening, and every good wish. Wignesan

While a bit repetitive, the power of this poetry shines through. I have often wondered why they say things like, "He/She slept with her/him," when they really mean that there really wasn't any sleep at all, just good old-fashioned natural, wide awake sexual activity of various sorts alluded to in your poetry.
I like very much this mantra... for lovers, the true lovers who are doomed to part. yes, the pressure grows and the boiling point is not far off to be too dangerous for both. to my experience, somehow, but a lot of dirt emerged in the place where the flowers bloomed some time ago. Is it the price for passion?. . your beautiful piece shows that you're in the know, sir. Thank you for your sharing. Cheers, alex
