It is the natural order of mammals who congregate for most to gravel under the leadership of the alpha male or female, whichever be the case. Humans are no exception. We are social animals and tend to "follow" leaders unquestionably even though the leaders may be taking us to our death. Why so many sign up for war and glory, only to come back, if not in a coffin, with the life beaten out of us, no more to dream of the glory of war.
