I walk across the silver sands of my childhood

Cockleshells and periwinkles crunch beneath my feet

Curlews and lapwings, piping and trilling overhead

And the sound of the surf rolling and breaking on the desolated shore

Driftwood and jetsam washed up on the high tide line ,

Like remnants of a past forgotten time

 

The burning sun arcs across an azure blue open sky

And my heart whispers your name in beautiful refrain,

God I wish I had her now

The call of the wild, echoes hauntingly around

Black throated diver bubbles its melancholy sound

And the refreshing wind swirls through my hair

 

Time stands still, and a swooping gannet glides across the foam

Black faced sheep bleat in the wild bracken

And jack rabbits scuttle for cover

Sweet aroma of the heather fills my lungs

As I settle down on sandy dune

 

Staring across the expanse of clear, blue water

My heart considers past and present experiences

Seeking to find the sublime link, that points the way ahead

Love is the compass to set your path

Forgive all hurts,and give empathy as a free gift,

And show total respect to all
