i've suddenly "inherited" a band of 3 American Krestel hawks (small north american hawks) dive bombing past my window of my coop which is the tallest in The Bronx ... they been around for about a week ..
Bird behavior is quite interesting… Especially when youngsters are just leaving the nest. They want all the attention and show it. It's also interesting to watch how widely different bird species seem to get along quite well and tend to have more squabbles amongst their own than with the others who they peaceably eat food thrown out or drink water provided.
Yes birds knew the value of a plain clothes line
Now they've been replaced by an inefficient dryer
that make your clothes a dingy gray
and the birds just cry and fly away.
They always come together, and then leave together; even though sometimes they're of different birds.
I used to watch the birds from my backyard window too. They're little peckers. They seek food by digging their beaks into the grass and soil, and each time they would come up with something in their mouths. They are keen little creatures!!!
