There's many that want to serve the Lord
but only in
an advisory capacity
They believe He's here for their
needs and wants
that appease and please
The self
The I
The me
They use His very Word
to blackmail Him
to do it
Now,
as He said
He would
Selecting incongruent scriptures
to bend them
to their own desires
and for their own good.
I watch them grow
in leaps and bounds
both buildings and new members too
They brag how many come to them
from points around the globe,
to join their church and prosper
in any thing
they choose.
Of course the old devil
thinks it's all just fine
oh so great.
He helps them with the powers
he was given
as the prince of the air
In what seem to be miracles
his voice is way familiar
and before they know it
they're on their way
day to day
Towards the wrong
eternal gate.
They are taught to live
above their means
as means will follow
their intent,
They've figured out a way
to take His awesome Word,
and use it
to pay the rent.
One, told me, everything was looking real good
but was almost
three months behind
on the mortgage
and lots of land taxes
were way past due
"Not to worry
Art"- afterall-- He always does what His Word
says he will, do
and He will rescue me in time
that's what
believing faith
will accomplish,
I've but
to see it thru
What of the things
He'd have them see?
What of His will and way?
When you order God around
you open yourself
to much disappointment
a lot of heartache
and pain
Because He will
ALWAYS do
what HE sees
is to your
overall good
to your
ultimate gain.
The only prosperity
you really need
is to prosper in the things
that matter
the things
that remain;
Seek not more
in and of
this World,
but rather
the things
that provide
real wealth
spiritual maturity
and eternal
gain.
"You ask and do not recieve because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures.
You adulterers, do you not know that friendship, with the world is hostility toward God?"
James 4:3-4
