A beautiful write Ron, full of wisdom. I love the positive voice in this look at life and new beginnings. May this new year be special for you.

Your well-metred stanzas throw up a vast wealth of treasured thoughts and ideas as I read them, Ron, and so much is stirred by their lyrical ebb and flow. One of them is the thought that, although appearing to be cyclical, time is, as we know it, linear and we are actually travelling from A to B, and not going round in circles as it might seem from time to time! But trouble can surface if we start to move backwards, I guess, and need to learn, like the wisdom of the blood circulatory system, that doors behind need to be shut as we open and pass through new ones... could go on, but will reign myself in here!! Thank you so much for this deeply thought-provoking write. LOL Kate xx

It's all about that last verse, isn't it, Ron? Writing 'truisms' are tricky, hoping not to trod the same path as others... this is fresh and it will linger. Good stuff! katy xox.

Interesting and succinct, Ron. Our 'home', our berth, is the sea, of life and, coincidentally, of this planet. Evolution, though, promises nothing, and everything. Tsunamis can hit worlds and lives with ferocity, even while impassive...

You've certainly started my 'gears' working with your piece, thank you.

As an aside, I had to copy my review twice so I could click 'Forward' to reread your poem to gather my thoughts, and lucky I did, when I clicked 'Back', my words were gone.

You are right Ron, we don't control nature..it controls itself, and when it unleashes...we mortals can only ride it out.
Wonderful wise words.

"Cataclysm is but a heartbeat away.
Eons of calm into violence will sway."
Wise poem! I thinks that's why we should savor and appreciate our "life moments" and live each to the fullest and of the best quality that we know how. Thanks for sharing!

Beautifully written Ron, and much wisdom!
We cannot control the elements, and they ususally
mean new growth, we have to adapt to them, as sad
as that sometimes is.
