Why I didn't post yesterday...

Took a botanical sabbatical, and learned what a fort is worth. Known for its stockyards, and Billy Bob’s, the last place you’d think on Earth. Mid the grand prairie grass, and occasional oak. Where the buffalo roamed, and oxen pulled Conestoga yoke. Lay a glen of natural hope, where water ran free, and deer could lope. Of reflecting pond, and butterfly glee. A most enchanting place to be. magic forest of ancient tree. Filled with flower and dappled sun, where children laughed on the run. A quiet seclusion here or there, to stop and breathe the warm evening air. And dream… If all the Earth had a botanical theme, wouldn’t it be wonderful? Copyright 2009 © Ronald W. Hull 8/31/09

Where is this wonderful place? I envy you your visit. Lovely picture and economic poem made me think of the inspiration this "last stronghold of prairie beauty" would hold for my songwriting...(music not lyrics)

Ron, thanks for sharing your visit with me -- it sounds like it really is a "sanctuary for the senses" -- the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens that is -- of the half dozen visits I had to Fort Worth, all were strictly limited to business -- I never was afforded the time or opportunity to enjoy and explore the area -- I can envision the beauty of the place through your beautifully worded poem -- peace and love my friend -- Jon Michael
