We are on the verge of ending genetic birth defects, curing all diseases, gathering endless free energy from the sun, developing universal currency and language, ending nationalism over universalism, going to Mars and countless other innovations including making a living without having to work hard. Yet there are those, bolstered by their fears and using information supporting these fears from the Internet, that think that we are headed in the wrong direction. They are simply wrong. Just unwilling to change for the better.

Brightly Forward

At the end of the tunnel

there is always a bright light.

The future is like that,

revealing the hidden from sight.

The natural progression,

evolution of life on this earth,

has always been forward,

more diversification and worth.

The same is true of humankind,

struggling to find our real worth,

through eons of fighting and ignorance,

gradually bringing peace on earth.

The statistics are clear,

life is better each year.

As we conquer our doubts,

change looking ins into outs.

What good is all the fighting?

What good is all the pain?

Love is the answer to that,

the benevolence of soft rain.

When we conquer our fears,

we can leave them behind.

After all, most of our fears,

are only of the mind.

There are very grave dangers,

that we are just learning about.

We must deal with them now,

we must stop having doubt.

For we shape our future forward,

not the other way, around.

Accepting change and its promises,

a brighter world will be found.

WE KNOW, OF COURSE, THAT GOD AND HIS WORD HAS 'EVER' EXISTED BUT, JUST TO SUBSTANTIATE, HOW LONG HAS THE PRINTED PROPHETIC WORD OF GOD BEEN AROUND(MY RESEARCH SAYS LATE 1400 TO 1500)? WELL, THE WORD TELLS US...'AS IT WAS IN THE DAY OF NOAH AND LOT, SO IT WILL BE IN THE 'LAST DAYS'. THERE WOULD BE UNBELIEVERS WHO WOULD BE GOING ON WITH 'BUSINESS AS USUAL', THINKING EVERYTHING WAS JUST FINE, EVEN PLANNING WEDDINGS, ETC.(LUKE 17;26-30 & MATT 24:37-39 & REV 13:16-18). IN REVELATION IT ALSO WARNS ABOUT THE PROPOSED 'MONEY-SYSTEM' CHANGE THAT YOU SPOKE OF IN YOUR INTRODUCTION. SO, YOU SEE, THE WORD OF GOD AND THE CONDITIONS OF TODAY COINCIDE 100%...AND I AGREE WITH YOUR LAST LINE, INDEED...BRIGHTLY FORWARD!!! THANKS FOR SHARING. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS

Brightly forward! A very insightful poem! The fear factor has destroyed many great dreams. A lovely read. Thanks Ron for sharing.

After all, most of our fears,

are only of the mind.

I love this phrase. We must condition our minds to think positively and look forward to the future. I wish I could follow your advice. Hard work but it can be done.

The Babylonian Empire, the Mede/Persian Empire, the Greek Empire, and the Roman Empire, all had their positive dreams too. They all succeeded, and prospered spectacularly for a while, but eventually were destroyed or devolved beyond recognition because of human corruption, greed, and arrogance. Nothing has changed. Dream on, Ron. You're good at it. r

"conquer our fears"

I spent over two decades trying to conquer my fears. And they were oh so mean. Eh, I persevered when many did not. I like this poem, Ron, and I am with you all the way. If we cannot conquer our utmost fears all the advantages we worked so diligently for will perish.

Like Odin said, it's up to us, to move forward, or backwards. Yes each passing year things improve overall, but It's way to easy to let our fears control us. Especially when we have leaders who use fear to control people. An excellent write with a positive view of the future.

This future you eloquently suggest is there for us to create or destroy. Your poetic trust inherent in this poem is what more beings need to understand. Here's hoping many will read and pass on the wisdom you've displayed here.

Hi Ron,
I really enjoyed reading your poem, Brightly Forward. You are so right--There is always a bright light at the end of a tunnel. I call that silver linings!
