Ecstasy

You caught my eye in a crowd of others,

you were not what I consider my druthers,

but you were intriguing, just the same,

I wanted to get to know you and your name.

I noticed that you looked back at me,

an encouraging sign, I could clearly see,

I was shy, but tried to figure out how to meet,

I couldn't just walk up to you on the street.

Our paths crossed in the morning each day,

I thought of a way we might meet along the way.

We took the same bus to work, I knew.

I got up my courage to sit down by you.

I asked if the seat next to you was taken,

you looked up at me, a look not mistaken.

You said, "You can sit here if you like."

I sat down beside you as if on a pike.

I was so nervous, I could hardly talk,

an attraction so strong it made me balk.

You seemed to have the same concern,

it was hard to talk to each other, learn.

Leaving the bus with only a paper scrap,

with a phone number that could be a trap.

For I knew nothing of this other one,

they could be fooling me just for fun.

Fooled before by my reckless infatuation,

when no one had ever returned my adoration.

Would this one be different, or just the same?

All I had to know, was a number and a name.

I made the call and we met in a café,

it was hard to eat, while lust ate away.

At our every attempt at conversation,

every word just added to the notion.

Hand in hand we walked through the park,

moonlight on the water increased the spark,

on a bench we sat, kissed and explored,

each other's hidden secrets adored.

Returning home, we could no longer resist,

feelings we both had as we held and kissed.

We found ourselves undressing in the moonlight,

enthralled in each other's bodies that entire night.

Fingers on flesh quivering from heat, not cold,

we explored each other's bodies instinct told.

Flesh that lay open, exposed and kissed,

electrifying touch reaching ecstatic bliss.

Our tension built up to a glorious level,

we could not deny its bursting at the seams.

Thrusting past the line of no return,

reaching ecstasy beyond our wildest dreams.

A love like this is rare to behold,

it is forever young and never gets old.

So when the opportunity comes along,

do not deny it; let go, get hot, get bold.

I believe there are many "kinds" or "facets" of "love." I often compare love and relationships to snowflakes, not one is the same. I can relate to your theme as I fell in love for the first time in grade two, she was in grade one. I have never forgotten Louisette. There have been many other "loves" along the way and yes, there is yet one again. Nicely done, Ron. All the best,

Greetings to Author Poet Ronald W. Hull.

Enthusiasm and Health.

"Ecstasy" flows with the rhythm of romantic beauty under the light of lust; and exoterically paints with hues of wisdom a progressive fusion for togetherness.

I did enjoy this romantic scroll.

Reverent and appreciativelly,

ENJOYED RON. LIKE A SCENE FROM A MOVIE...WE'VE ALL BEEN THERE. IT MIGHT HAVE TAKEN A LITTLE LONGER TO GET TO WHERE IT WENT...BUT, WE'VE ALL BEEN THERE. SO MUCH TO BE SAID ABOUT PRIMAL LUST VS LUST OF LOVE, BUT IN ANY CASE, CERTAINLY, DONE WELL. THANKS FOR SHARING, MY FRIEND. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...HIS+INSPIRATIONS

Can't read the poem. Color is muted down next to nothing but white. You need to use a darker color for the print.

Nicely done my friend, it makes one wonder though how many perfect relationships or even casual memories are lost to that dreaded shyness or fear of rejection that some of us are cursed with.

Very nice words, Ron. Sometimes a person has to give into a non hurtful intuition. In the past when life was simpler and more honest it was easier to do. Now I know of a man slightly beyond middle age that has never been married and he so wants to, so his only way to meet a women is through the internet. But then how does one know the others true meaning? However, what you have written is the dream of most modern men, and women; to find someone honest and lovable.

Rambling on, I guess.

Up to page 100 of my "A mid-century trip to Woodstock '69, and am still in year 1939 thinking how do I get around WW2 as I do not want to get into the war... Got it! Murray and Malcolm are too old to be drafted.

I don't know, Ron. How long did they know one another before they decided it was love? Granted, we've all heard of love at first sight but despite that fact that I'm a hopeless romantic who writes romances, I'm not sure I believe in it. Lust at first sight? Definitely. Intrigued at first sight? Also definitely. But to truly love someone you need to know them in the most intimate way and that means you both need to make yourselves vulnerable and open on emotinal and mental levels. Not just sexually.

Having said all of that, I confess I enjoyed the poem. I liked your imagery and your insights into the narrator's thoughts and feelings. They made him believable and sincere.

Yeah, our carnal nature is fully expressed in this seeming idea for a soap opera episode, eh? But on the concept of youth, adolescent men dominate the landscape, so such an episodic experience is probably going on with most ages today. For a few of us, there's the other kind of love as well.
