Dueling Nostrils

I slip into my bed once more, expecting blissful sleep,
Twill be a nightmare, this I fear, but still my date I keep.
The mattress is soft and comfy, the pillow nicely fluffed,
and I am snugly tucked in place, but alas, that's not enough!
My husband, soundly sleeping, is blissfully unaware
that his lovely, peaceful slumber, sends music through the air.
With notes of joyous vibrato, the beagle lends his voice;
I didn't ask for a chorus...I didn't make this choice!
In vain I try relaxing but my eyes fill up with tears
as I head out to the bathroom to find cotton for my ears.
