I’m sitting here eating a can of tinny tasting peas because I put them in the fridge in the can, not in a tupperware container like my wife said. She looks at me like I’m stupid and tells me they’ll taste tinny Russell.
Ah, well, who listens anymore?
Kids sure don’t. Remember the last time you went to the local stop and shop for coffee and smokes? Remember the dead-eyed, insolent pre-adult who waited on you?
Most of the time I just make my purchase, shake my head and leave. But I believe in making lemonade out of lemons. If my purchase comes to $4.13 I give them a five and a quarter.
Noting their expression, I smile, sip my lemonade and curse the school system.
aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh...spot ON! love it...almost hesitated reading this, by the title alone (get my mind out of the gutter!!), but am I glad I stopped by. You've a wicked sense of humor that is sorely needed. Tracking you, so I don't miss a thing!
Oh..ho ho ho! Nail-on-the-head, with this, Rusty. Done this many times, and litterally laughed aloud at a cashier (should I have cried?)...didn't phase 'em.
Hope you've learned your lesson about leaving peas (anything) in the can - not only the bad taste, but also soooo unhealthy. :o)
Yes, yes, yes! I've done the same thing myself. Most of the time, they have to wait for the cash register to TELL them how much change to give back ... ahhh, the age of computers and calculators ... and they call it 'progress' ...
Very well done -- and enlightening!
Love,
CJ
