Sometimes I just don't know where I am.

Poem Artwork

here and there are places,
that I use a lot.
one is a place I am,
the other, I am not

there can be pretty far,
or it can be close by.
and there can even disappear
when I go bye-bye

if I go for a walk
to the place called there,
how is it I end up
being here not there.

so I told my here to stay
when I left to go,
but lonely here showed up there
and why I do not know

I just can't understand why
a here will go to there,
but there always runs away
from here to over there.

Rusty, this is a mind bender. Your word play is so articulate, it makes perfect sense. Great job.

What a cute and delightful prose. "..I go for a walk to the place called there..." I can see the images and feel the meanings throughout. This would make a great picture story book for children. Thanks for sharing. My best, Gloria

Hi Rusty:

It was nice to find another poet who refuses to take life -- or poetry seriously.

What a delightful ditty, Rusty-friend. The play on words is such fun, both for children and grownups! Thank you for another glimpse into your playful side.
Love,
CJ

Sometimes, too many signs in one's head can be pretty confusing to oneself.
