Southeast Kentucky experienced a 4.3 magnitude earthquake today. We felt the tremors over a hundred miles away.
I felt the earth move
A little earlier today.
I thought it was
The washer
On its spin cycle
Until I remembered
We weren't doing
Any laundry.
Luckily
No one was hurt
And very little damage
Was reported.
I found it startling
But not really frightening
For I experienced
Far worse tremors
When I lived
In Alaska
Many years ago.
You lived in Alaska?!??? OH, I've always wanted to go there! Strongest 'quake I've felt was a 5.1, in OH, in 1980. Very unsettling when the ground moves out from under. Well done, glad you're safe.
