"Second Nature" (c) 2005, Karla Dorman. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ It's been so long, so, so long since I've written a good poem, I think I've forgotten how unless it's like sex - it has a certain rhyme to it and definately has meter. Once initiated, it all comes rushing back, building, building until it explodes in a shuddering climax that absolutely rocks the world, shaking the ground underneath and moving the Northern Lights southward. Siiiiiiigh..... but that was ages ago (I'm a little fuzzy on the details). Or perhaps, it's like riding a bike - getting on and falling off, scraping up knees and elbows, over and over and over again (there has GOT to be an easier way). But then Daddy picks me up, dries the tears of frustration, kisses away the boo-boos, puts me back on that blasted seat and tells me, "Once more--for me?" (don't you just hate the guilt trip) and then, suddenly, there I am, riding and challenging the wind to a race! Yeah! Look, Daddy, no hands!
Give me that pen and forget what I said - there are a million poems inside me, clamoring to be put to page - Gotta write, gotta write, gotta write!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Funny Funny Funny. this is exceptiuonal piece of poetry. Like sex once you are through with one poem you may wish to write another one and the chain of writing thus gets innitiated. thanks karla for sharing this wonderful poem

Write on! Girl. We would have never learned to walk had it not been for all the tumbling around and falling and just plain stubborness and faith in the fact that this we love and this can and will do.
Atta boy, girl! Remember that Roger Miller song? Loved this poem, especially all the nasty, slipping an sliding on a waterbed sex and everything. Uh huh, gotta love it. And yes, you DO most certainly have a million poems inside of you.
The Wholly Book of Genesis is a humorous satire on the first book of the Old Testament where the Story of Creation, the building of Noah's Ark, Sodom and Gomorrah and the families of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob are thoroughly spoofed and broadsided.
you all along! You are so very talented!

Poet, how well you capture the essence of writing, past images and the unceasing pull of the pen. Never stop!
