Poem Artwork

Full, after
stuffing yourself
once again, you
laze about in front
of the TV, whining
with an annoying whine,
"Maaaa!  I ate too much!
My tummy hurts!," I
roll my eyes in frustration.
Somehow, your pain
will again be my fault.
It isn't.  I swear.
Did I force you to pick
up the fork, the spoon?
Did I tell you to put
the food in your mouth,
shoveling it in as
fast as I could put it
on the plate - dang,
you nearly bit my hand
off as well!  That's when
I told you to leave
some color on the plate -
I shouldn't complain ...
guess you liked my cooking.  The
only thing I ask:
Did you save me any?
You better have saved me a drumstick.

(c) 2005, Karla Dorman.

Great write Karla. I tasted Turkey only once in my life time when I was aboard on an Al-Italia flight from Rome to Istanbul back in 1988. It tasted so delicious. My prayers are with you and sis karen.

I didn't cook this year because I am going to friends home for dinner. I am going to have to pile some extra turkey on my plate to slip into a little bag in my pocket for my cat. She loves turkey and I rarely cook it. I am glad you had someone to share the holiday with. Happy Thanksgiving!
Take care,
Sherry

Naw, mother always told us, "It's okay, I'll just eat these old wings." Come to find out she was having the last laugh, the wings are the tastest part of the bird, chicken or turkey. Cute.

It's always been a point to ponder why humans don't have two stomachs like some animals. Guess it would be pretty unattractive, lazing around watching the game, chewing your cud! That's too funny. Pass the toothpicks! Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family, Karla. Enjoy your day of Thanks and feast. Blessed Be.

sounds like thanksgiving at our house...eat too much and lay around whining, go for a walk, do some shopping maybe and then start all over again
