Dddaaarrrkkk humor, indeed ...

Poem Artwork

If I force myself
on you, begging
you to read my words,
or to come up with
something absolutely
brilliant before my brain
is ready, what mayhem
and madness will result?

This poem, for one thing -
I know, it's crap.  I tried.
Can't get the mood ...
sorry, I just can't think
of something good to
write about, so I'll
exit stage right ... excuse
the interruption, please.

(c) 2005, Karla Dorman.

Glad you put this under 'Humor,' Karla! But we probably all write lots of 'crap!'

When you write feelings Sis K, you write reality.
Keep it real Girl, just keep it real. (It's better reading thoughts of others views than watching those non-creative reality programs, that's my opinion anyway.)

Your excused...though you didn't bother me as nothing you could write could bother me, I find all of it quite interesting and this one quite funny in a "dark" sort of way...LOL! ed

LOL, Karla! We all have our times when we think we can only write crap. (it hovers in the 99 percentile range for me) <grinz> It is rarely true, but our attitude is so soured that we can't see our way clear to write something that makes our heart sing. If you are feeling frustrated, lay down your pen...make it beg you to pick it up again. When you do, you will be ready to write again.
Take care,
Sherry

I think the inspiration is in front of you but you are spending a little too much time writing about why you can't write. YOu have a defiante talent and subjects surround you time to speak honestly with your muse sweetie. I know you are a writer.

Hoping you take this as a well meant comment;-) Karla, when we stop thinking we are going to write the greatest poem ever and make everyone catch there collective breath and notice and lift us to the stars...then we can settle down to just writing poetry. The only thing holding you back right now is your attitude. You are never happy with yourself, and that is a shame because you are a very nice person cared for by all of us and a good poet to boot. Why not just write a poem without any expectations, and let happen whatever will happen. There are ao many topics to write about that it's impossible not to find one, The problem is wanting to find one that will stop the presses and create a sensation;-) hahaha we all have had that pipe dream my dear. just write and stop analyzing yourself to death!...I love you and your poems, so there !!!...Eileen

When that happens to me, I take a walk, read a book, watch Judge Judy's re-runs, listen to music, clean my house, bake a cake, fold my laundry, and by the time I even look at that pencil, I've got something to write about. :-)
