The Real Reason for the Season: His death and resurrection. He's alive!

... What was good about it? They beat my Lord, they beat Him to a bloody pulp. His shoulders bore the stripes of my chastisement; His features, nearly erased under thorns pouring blood into His eyes. That should have been me.
And then they took Him and laid Him on a cross, scraping more skin off of His back; skin He couldn't afford to lose. They nailed His wrists and feet to the tree!! Pinned in place; He couldn't escape. That should have been me.
And then they took Him down, and laid Him in the grave; the Light went out of my world; it's dark; it's dark; the ground shook; I'm afraid --
Who is this before me, with face like lightning? Who is this telling me, 'Fear not, ye, for I know ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is not here, for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay,
And go quickly and tell His disciples that He is risen from the dead, and behold! He goeth before you into Galilee, there ye shall see Him. Lo, I have told you.' * I ran, I ran ... fear and joy in my heart.
And as I went to tell them, Jesus met me. I fell at His feet, crying, 'All hail' and worshipped Him ... and He said, 'Be not afraid.' He did it for me, He did it for me, so it wouldn't be me.
There is no Love that is deeper nor stronger and yet softer than the one which placed a life so another could live....Eternally....your work on this poetic expression is written with much Love....
A very nice work for the celebration of.....Jesus....
Oh Karla, what a reminder. I'll tell ya ... I will certainly focus on Him, and the work He did for me, and the rest of humanity, instead of bunnies and eggs. Go figure! Blessings to you eternal sister!
Halleujiah, the Lord lives on, and we are blessed for that crimson blood he shed for us on Calvary, the message I've been sharing with the kids at church, Easter is not about goodies, and chocolate treats, it's about the son of man who died for us on Calvary
God Bless

Dear Karla,
This is a nice poem for Easter as it carries the wise message that none of us are perfect. "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory." Blessings to you and Karen on this holiday weekend.
Love & Light always and in all ways,

Beautiful, even humbling words that remind us what Jesus suffered to save our wretched souls. It reminded me of when I watch the film 'The Passion'. Watching a very accurate portrayal of what Jesus suffered for us made me think about myself as a person. At least he is in a better place now while still able to reach out to us!
Happy Easter :o)

karla this one touched me so deeply this morning reading the beauty, sacrifice, the sadness of the Cross he bore. But the Joy he held within putting the Devil and death under his foot.

One word: WOW!! It is as though you were right there, witnessing the Crucifiction, His Death, and finally His Resurrection. Reminds me of the song "The Third Man" by Loretta Lynn, when she dreamed about it and was recounting what she saw. Vivid imagery, powerful lines, inspiring verse! BRAVA, one of your *BEST*!!
Don't tell me this wasn't inspired by God! WOW!!!!
(((HUGS))) and much love, your twin sister, Karen Lynn. :D
Happy Easter, and thank you for remembering the REAL Reason why we celebrate it! :D *applause*
Karla, this is so piercing and true, it has caused me to weep yet again, on this Holiest Day of Observance. I will keep this beauty...for it should have been me, too........
I love you dearly, Sister.
I pray you A Blessed Ressurection Celebration.
